Newspaper Article, c.1935  - pioneer of the Darlingford district of Manitoba, now resident of Roland where he celebrates today, Jan. 11, his 77th  birthday in excellent health and spirits.  Mr. Bond came form his native county of Durham, Ont., in the early eighties, settling ten miles west of Morden.  He married Libbie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Oke, pioneers of the same district.  After twenty years successful farming, Mr. Bond retired to Darlingford, where Mrs. Bond died in 1914.  four sons survive; Roy, of Darlingford; Frank, of Morden; Melvin, of Vegreville, Alta.; and Bert, of Souris, Man.  r. Bond's eldest son was killed in the war.
